Rope Rescue

Pioneer’s training professionals are leaders in the industrial Rope Rescue course that teaches our clients rope rescue techniques in an industrial setting. We customize and facilitate the course out of all of our offices, or come right to your site. 

Our Rope Rescue courses are designed and taught around the required sections of:

• NFPA 1006 - Standard for Rescue Technicians,
• NFPA 1670 - Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Rescue Incidents, and
• NFPA 1983 - Standard on Life Safety Rope and Equipment for Emergency Services.

 

Our program covers topics such as:

• Hazards
• Rescue pre-planning
• Suspension trauma
• Rope and rescue equipment
• Knots
• Haul systems
• Belay systems
• Patient packaging/stretcher lowering
• Fall protection rescues
• Mechanical advantage
• Ascending/Descending

 

Our Instructors:

• Have trained with leaders at the Edmonton and Calgary City Fire Departments
• Take leadership level courses on an ongoing basis to keep our skills sharp and stay current on the latest rope techniques
• Have taken instructor training through Fire ETC
• Volunteer to set up rope stations for adventure races (eg. CFD’s Where’s The Fire? )
• Rappelled down the Calgary Tower
